2023 - 2024 Meal Plans

Resident and Commuter students can enjoy the convenience of dining on campus with a meal plan. Meal swipes provide you with access to our all-you-care-to-eat style dining located in McGovern Dining Commons. Dining Dollars can be used in Jay's Nest. Meal plan holders receive complimentary enrollment into our WasteWatch Reuse to-go program.  Please review the FAQ section for full terms of your meal plan.

  • Gold Meal Plan
    All students living in a traditional residence hall are required to enroll in this meal plan. Students living in suites have the option to select the Gold or Bronze Meal Plan. 
    Plan includes:
     - 19 meals per week in McGovern Dining Commons
     - $100 Dining Dollars per semester   

  • Bronze Meal Plan 
    Available to students living in suite style residence halls.
    Plan includes:
     - 10 meals per week in McGovern Dining Commons
     - $100 Dining Dollars per semester 
Unused meals do not transfer over to the next semester. Unused dining dollars roll over from the fall to the spring semester and expire at the end of the academic year. 
These plans offer the convenience of dining on campus while providing you with a savings off of the door rate at McGovern Dining Commons. To sign up for your meal plan contact cardservices@usj.edu and make a check payable to The University of Saint Joseph.

    - 20 meals per semester
    - $200 Dining Dollars per semester 

  • 40 Block Plus $100 Dining Dollars 
    - 40 meals per semester
    - $100 Dining Dollars per semester 

  • 20 Block Plan 
    20 meals per semester, approximately 1 meal per week. 

  • 40 Block Plan
    40 meals per semester, approximately 2 meals per week. 
  • 60 Block Plan       
    60 meals per semester, approximately 4 meals per week.

Dining Dollars are funds that are loaded directly onto your student ID with the purchase of a meal plan for use exclusively at on campus dining locations, including McGovern Dining Commons and Jay’s Nest. Unused dining dollars roll over from the fall to the spring semester but expire at the end of the academic year.

Frequently Asked Questions

In McGovern Dining Commons we offer Simple Servings which is our allergen-safe, dining option for our customers with food allergies or gluten intolerance. This station offers food free from peanuts, tree nuts, shellfish, wheat, soy, milk products, eggs, sesame and gluten-containing ingredients. We also offer dairy alternatives and certain gluten free products throughout McGovern, Jay's Nest, and McDonough Cafe.  If you need help locating any of these items please ask, we're happy to help!

Resident students are enrolled in a meal plan based on their housing assignment. Commuter students can visit card services on myUSJ to enroll or, email cardservices@usj.edu for more information. Faculty & staff, please contact cardservices@usj.edu

  • Weekly meal swipes run on a Sunday - Saturday schedule and reset on Sundays at midnight. 
  • Commuters may purchase additional plans within the same semester if needed. 
  • Unused meals do not transfer over to the next semester. 
  • All meal plans are non-transferable. 
  • If someone presents the ID of another student, we reserve the right to confiscate the ID and report the incident to Student Affairs.

All students living on campus are required to have a meal plan.

  • Students living in a traditional residence hall are required to maintain the Gold Meal Plan. 
  • Students living in suites have the option of selecting the Gold or Bronze Meal Plan.
Dining Dollars are funds loaded directly onto your student ID with the purchase of a Gold or Bronze meal plan. for use exclusively at on campus dining locations, including McGovern Dining Commons and Jay's Nest. Unused dining dollars roll over from the fall to the spring semester and expire at the end of the academic year.
Jay Bucks are the campus currency and can be used at all dining locations including McGovern Dining Commons, and Jay's Nest. You may also use Jay Bucks at the laundry machines on campus. Parents and families can add funds to the Student ID Card by going to the Parent/ Family Portal. This portal can only be used to add funds to the Student ID Card, but cannot access the other information for students. Please note that the funds loaded onto One Web will not be accessible for Pay to Print.
